Parent Blocking and Filtering Software
Blocking software is software that uses a "bad site" list, while filtering
software blocks sites using uses certain keywords. As with the "bad site"
lists, the lists of keywords used by the filtering software should be
customizable by the parent, and every parent should be able to see which
terms are filtered.
The Brockton School Department offers this list as a service to parents
and intends no endorsement of these products.
CyberAngels is the largest online Internet saftey program since 1995.
Cyber Patrol allows parents to select categories of sites to be blocked, or
to permit contact to pre-approved sites only. Time management and
ChatGard features are also included. Subscription fee.
Cybersitter allows parents to block, block and log, or simply alert them
when access is attempted to objectionable material. Fee.
Cyber Snoop monitors and logs any Web, FTP, e-mail, chat and newsgroup
activity. Lists of blocked sites can be imported, viewed and edited.

Web Chaperone software pre-scans every page before your child sees it
