ABSTRACT
An evaluation of water demand is the process of identifying, predicting, examining and
managing the bio-physical and other relevant effects of development proposal before major
decisions were taken and commitments made.
The study focused on the new problem arising from the University of Ilorin earth dam
and adequate water supply. It also studied the population data for the university main campus,
daily production of water from the dam and other design parameters and factors that affects
water demand and its supply. Some questionnaires were administered throughout the university
campus to note any new increase in water demand that has arisen as a result of the increase in the
population on the university campus and its community. The population data were used to note
the changes in the university campus in order to evaluate and predict water demand figure.
The result shows that the water demand in the university environment is at epidemic
level. The major conclusion of the study was that the use of water should be minimized. The dam
