I, the undersigned Volunteer, apply for the above position to undertake unpaid work for the stated
period.
I understand that a volunteer worker is not regarded as an employee of Federation University
Australia, nor is entitled to any form of payment. In the event of an accident, a volunteer is not
entitled to workers compensation / Work Cover. The University does hold an insurance policy
which covers voluntary workers in respect to personal injury or damage to property only.
I agree to indemnify and keep indemnified the University for any loss which results from my
sustaining an injury whilst on volunteer work at the University including (but not limited to) any:







claim for damages for a work injury;
claim for compensation for a work injury;
liability of an employer under section 125A of the Accident Compensation Act 1985;
liability of an employer under the Accident Compensation Act 1985 for rehabilitation and
ensuring return to work;
increase in WorkCover premiums under the Accident Compensation Act;
administration costs associated with a claim under the Accident Compensation Act,
including legal costs; and
claim for damages under section 135 of the Accident Compensation Act.
