Attend community meetings. Inform the campus and the community of progress through our Tabloids and Dateline SCC, the Express and the Staff News. 1b Inform the campus and the community about bond expenditures and facility improvements through the Tabloids, Dateline SCC, the Student Newspaper and the Staff News. Public Relations Year-End Status and Accomplishments Wrote a light-rail story for the spring and summer tabloids and published update in Staff News; am working on a story for the fall tabloid, which will go out in July. Worked with the Express on five light-rail related stories. Attended meetings of LPCA and CAC to inform community groups of our commitment to promote light rail. Worked with journalism faculty and students on stories for the tabloid and Express. In the past year, e-News and e-mails from operations have kept the campus community up-to-date. Goal 2: 2a Work with advisory committee on Publications and Marketing & Marketing Guide for the college. Collect, sort and prioritize Recruitment information pertinent to publication and marketing, develop publication standards and guidelines, and make recommendations for the campus community through the participatory decision making process. 2b Work with campus community to make sure change to .edu is made on Web pages, e-mail signatures, fliers, Linda Kalber reviewed guidelines from other community and four-year colleges and worked with advisory committee to develop a nineteenpage Publications & Marketing Guide. The guide discusses the importance of branding, ways to identify and target a market, campus support systems that help get the word out, both internally and externally, no-cost marketing tips, advertising policies, Web policies, procedures & technical guidelines, and publication guidelines, including a punctuation and style guide. Nicole Luna, as a member of the advisory committee, took the minutes and informed members of upcoming meetings. Several messages went out in Staff News and eNews informing campus community of the publications and other printed materials. changeover. Worked with campus Webmasters to ensure that all those who needed to make changes were notified and provided assistance when necessary. A successful transition to .edu was completed on April 11. Other Accomplishments: Linda Kalber worked with the Transfer Center and Graphic Impressions to produce a viewbook to recruit high-end high school students and encourage those already here to transfer. The publication, titled “Make The Right Move,” was awarded third place by the Community College Public Relations Organization. Linda Kalber worked with students and community groups on issues surrounding use of William Land Park for parking. Nicole Luna served as Equity representative on hiring committees. Linda Kalber served on IT committee. Nicole Luna kept the online faculty and staff directory accurate and current. She also worked with various departments to update the online calendar and Hughes Stadium/Sutterville Road electronic sign with activities and events, and posted the Staff News online. Both Linda Kalber and Nicole Luna served on accreditation teams.
