Grade Connections Class
What is Connections? This class is designed to help you understand how the topics and skills you learn in
school (like reading, writing, and mathematics) are used in the “real world.”
Example Connections: Math teaches us problem solving. How can we use this skill in life?

Teamwork – team building, conflict resolution, and goal setting

House Design – architecture, interior design, scale and maintaining a budget
Roller Coaster Science – using physics concepts to design a roller coaster

Grading:
Grading supports the different learning styles of our students. For each unit, students will be assessed
on information using various activities including long-term class projects, individual/cooperative
learning assignments, participation, quizzes, tests and homework. All work assigned will have clearly
stated guidelines, expectations, due dates, and point values.
