Research: Museums of Music and Dance: an alternative/critical approach to intangible
cultural heritage (working title)
I am currently examining museums dedicated to traditional performing arts in the Iberian
Peninsula. I am also interested in traditional performing arts from Puerto Rico and South
America; cultural policy and community engagement for heritage recognition and
protection.
Supervisors: Gerard Corsane and Dr. Ian Biddle
Research Interests: tangible and intangible cultural heritage, traditional performing arts,
heritage management, museums, cultural tourism, cultural heritage policy and
sustainability, heritage and identity discourse, postcolonialism and socio-cultural hegemony,
coloniality and cultural environment.
