Job Description: Assistant Director of the Emerging Leaders Program at UDM
Institute for Leadership and Service
Main Role: To promote leadership, service, and community involvement by engaging and encouraging students
to become familiar with the Emerging Leaders Program (ELP)

Other Roles: Serve as the liaison between UDM students, Student Life, ILS staff, steering committee, and advisory board
members.

Update or create program related documents (e.g.
brochure, slides, databases, etc.), document and
maintain program interest and completion, as well
as maintain and update membership and
replication manuals.
Create flyers for posting around campus and for
submission to UDM event calendar. Email and
Blackboard announcements are frequently used

Meet with Director and Steering
Committee members to contribute
updates on work with the ELP.
Meet with students to assist w/

reviewing student submissions towards program.

Update ELP page content on UDM website.

Issue Reimbursements and Payments, Track

Assist ELP research projects (e.g. the longitudinal --2009, 2012, 2015-- results of the Multi-Institutional
Study of Leadership Survey) attendance at university events to further promote the ELP, and investigate
possible avenues of recognition for students involved in the ELP, as well as explore innovative and effective
improvements for ELP operations.
