• This Incomplete Manifesto may jump start some ideas to delve deeper into your creative practice.
• Use the spirit of this document as a reminder that your Artist Statement must always be a work-in-progress.
– The primary function of the Artist Statement is to offer insight into what makes your approach to working with material unique.

• Project Summaries

• Every student must submit a detailed production schedule/plan of how production resources are accessed, organized and used over a given timescale, for every phase of the production for five of the six compositions.
– This is a diary which elucidates on the How, When, Where,
Why
– Each Project Summary must involve at least 500 words in which creative and logistical process for your composition is described and outlined
• This information will account for each students use of lab time

• Project Summaries can include:
– Sketches
• With notes and captions
– Photos
•
With notes and captions
– Notes
• Related to viewings of videos, films, paintings, drawings , music or other media that influenced your composition
•
Conversations or events from inside and outside class and lab time that are relevant to your composition
– Meetings
• Notes of dates, times and outcomes
– Technical Experiments and Issues
– Revisions of your Artist Statement

• There is no Project Summary required in association with your first composition due September 24th
– A project summary must be submitted on the due with the
DVD or S: drive media on the due date of the remaining five
(5) compositions

• A Day In My Life
– Create a video composition of one minute or less to represent a 24hour period in your life
• Just in case you are wondering, time lapse is a little “on the nose”
– The primary goal is to identify a tone for your day
• i.e.: Distressing day; Heavenly day; Exhausting day; Long day, etc.
– During the critique process the tone you are trying to convey should be legible by viewers
– Due October 6, 2008
