Tim Lauer expressed his concern on the excessive number of materials and colors for the ease of maintenance.

12.

Rick – Sherwin Williams is the campus standard.

13.

Where is the blue and gold? a.

Next meeting will show more detail per space. b.

The intention of this presentation is to get an agreement on the range of colors. The number of paints and finishes will not be all these on the board.

14.

The slide “Decorative Resin Panels” discussion about the type of glass – might use an applied film.

15.

Lighting will be re-checked to have dimmable lighting in meeting rooms. a.

UW will provide a list of venues that need dimmable lighting.

16.

LED lighting – to be checked with DSF – UWEC would prefer using LED

17.

Incorporate some of the Neman Family Collection, contact Kimera K.<WAYKK@uwec.edu>

18.

Discuss about the use of bamboo in lieu of wood as a LEED option that is also more cost efficient. The question was, can we get a different color than what was represented?

19.

RUSTIC MODERN a.

Concern about the transition between carpet and terrazzo. b.

Alumni room interior to be special. c.

Rustic Modern slide is really nice. d.

Theatre-different colors of chairs not liked by the majority of the committee. e.

Remove 43, 48 & 111.

20.

The University does NOT want an industrial look.

21.

The University likes the modular arts wall panels in more organic forms. They like the idea of it being lit with

LED’s (changing colors for different events on campus).

22.

Jason especially likes the idea of LED’s changing colors.

23.

Use saturated colors in small doses.

24.

Like drum fixtures that are transitional in style.

25.

Campus likes the idea of incorporating school colors in different locations.

26.

Next meeting is yet to be scheduled; however, we will be looking at black and white elevations of all spaces.

27.

Rick – Interiors will show as an allowance? Yes

28.

Kate Hale really likes the organic resin with branches.

29.

The University needs to identify locations where finishes will be upgraded.

30.

The University likes the idea of bringing the outdoors in.

31.

The University likes the idea of making the offices feel individual, how can this be achieved?

32.

A local family has contacted the University and would like to donate some Native American Artifacts to them. Beth thinks that the Council Oak Meeting Room may be a nice place to display these artifacts. Does BH recommend any other locations?

33.

The University is open to the idea of incorporating more bamboo into the project, possibly as wall cladding. They would like to see some samples as they did not like the color of the detail image in the power point. They are really hoping to have a cherry finish to their wood. They would like to know if bamboo wall cladding is available in a cherry finish.

34.

Please send samples to Beth for review.

35.

The University has some very specific ideas about what the alumni room is to look like. Beth will be gathering suggestions. Some ideas she remembered included incorporating low comfortable seating, and built-in bookcases.

36.

The University loves the concept of Rustic Modern and loves the slide in the powerpoint with the simple black leather chairs. They also loved the wood on the walls, and the light fixtures in this space.

37.

The University is not crazy about the idea of different colored chairs in the multi-purpose space. They feel it looks disorganized and “jumbled”. They are open to using different colors, but in a more uniform manner. They like the idea of using their school colors in the seats.

38.

The University LOVES the images of Aspen Restaurant and would like for it to be re-created to fit their new building.

39.

The University does not like Finish #48 on the Final Concept Board – Please remove it from further consideration

(#48 is a Luna Upholstery Fabric Spellbound OCS-4096 Color Butterscotch). Colors are “ok” ….pattern is too modern/will date.

40.

The University does not like Finish #43 on the Final Concept Board – They believe it looks cheap. Please remove it from further consideration.

41.

The University does not like Finish #111 on the Final Concept Board – Please remove it from further consideration.

42.

The University appreciates that we are looking into implementing local materials into their project (i.e. – locally quarried sandstone), can we also incorporate the wood being specified for wall paneling/floors etc.?

43.

The University is concerned that the majority of the light fixtures shown on the plans are fluorescent and are not dimmable. They would like to incorporate more dimmable fixtures into the plan. They are looking for “mood” lighting in some areas, like the ballrooms.

44.

The University likes the idea of architectural glass with frosted patterns. They do not like the pattern shown on the glass in the PowerPoint. The University asked where glass like this could potentially be used. Lori talked about an idea that she and Shawn Plum had of having glass sidelights at all doors into Meeting Rooms. These sidelights could have a “frosted image” coordinating with the name of the room. For example, if it is the “Elm” Meeting Room, the glass at the sidelight would have an Elm Leaf either etched into it, or on a more cost effective applied film. Lori asked about the possibility of involving Julie and Sara with this to develop the actual leaves, and the University thought that was a wonderful idea.

45.

The University likes the idea of incorporating metals, especially copper. Is there anywhere on the fireplace that we could incorporate a copper hood similar to the one shown on the slide of Aspen Restaurant?

46.

LEED checklist. a.

The University is anxious to set up the more thorough LEED meeting. When will this happen? b.

Ash will schedule a meeting to discuss the LEED by the end of May (possibly 26-27). c.

The current design shows LEED silver. d.

The estimated possible LEED points is 56-Silver requires 50 points.
