December 2nd, 2014 Dear Forensics Coach: We hope you and your speech team will be able to join us on Saturday, February 7th, 2015 for the 38th annual UW-Eau Claire Invitational Speech Tournament. We will be offering the following WFCA events (Demonstration Speaking, Extemporaneous Speaking, Farrago, Four Minute Speaking, Group Interpretation, Moments in History, Oratory, Play Acting, Poetry, Prose, Radio Announcing, Solo Acting, Special Occasion Speaking, Storytelling, and Duo Interpretation) with the exception that one 4 X 6 note card will be allowed in Oratory, and that chairs may be used in Solo and Group Interpretation in keeping with WHSFA rules. In addition, we will also be offering WHSFA’s Public Address. For the exact WFCA rules please go to www.wfcaforensics.org. For the differences between the two, we are attaching a page towards the end of the invite. As is our tradition, we promise to offer first-rate competition, a friendly campus, and a convenient schedule. We will also be headquartered in DAVIES STUDENT CENTER. We will offer four preliminary rounds and no finals, with competition and awards finished by 5:00 pm. Awards will be given for the top six students in each event, and to the top five schools. TEAM SWEEPS WILL BE BASED ON THE TOP FIVE STUDENTS IN EACH EVENT. As always, your students will be welcome to enjoy lunch in the Davies Center at any of the facilities after the fourth round and before awards. The following pages will give you all the details of the tournament and how to enter. If there is any way we can be of help, please give us a call. We look forward to seeing you, and providing a stimulating and comfortable competitive setting for your students. See you on February 7th!
