REPORT FROM AUDIT COMMITTEE TO COUNCIL

EFFECTIVENESS OF COUNCIL AND MEMBERS OF COUNCIL 2012-13
Audit Committee considered the report prepared by Dr John Hogan, Registrar, on the outcome
of the above exercise .
Audit Committee was pleased to see that the responses generally confirm that Council is
working effectively and that members are satisfied with its operation.
It was noted that there are a number of issues of concern to be addressed, particularly
related to risk management (ie how we get assurance that the controls are effective) and the
relationship between Executive Board and Council in decision-making. There was also a
reference to the Audit Committee having sub-committees but Audit Committee did not think
this was necessary.
