Site Visit & presentation 1-3pm - Worklessness and Future Jobs Fund members
requested a progress update on work in Salford –a site visit - an opportunity to talk to
partner providers and service users – a presentation to follow.

Urban Vision – a look at the relationship with the councils joint venture partner. To be
confirmed. – (budget scrutiny are considering the management fee.)
Section 106 – following awareness training members requested detailed report when
available from the new computerised monitoring system. From May 2010. to be confirmed

Spotlighting Update – review of progress made in Spotlighting areas following presentation
in January 09 partial impact covered in April visit Worklessness

MediaCity uk – following the July site visit members members want to keep in touch with
this - updates will include progress delivering employment opportunities to salford residents
and links with local education establishments to influence appropriate curriculum (transport
connectivity proposals, January 2010)
Transport – after an initial focus on connectivity proposals to / from MediaCity intended to
make the most of employment and leisure opportunities. Scrutiny support will invite
comment from various interested parties.
Climate Change: Climate change targets – progress report - including Flooding (Pitt Report
– L.A.’s additional responsibilities.)
Focus on one of the following - Green canopy (Red Rose Forest ) – sustainable travel
planning, staff travel plan Climate Change – Carbon Reduction Commitment – from April 2010 the council will be
required to take part in a new cap and trade scheme, which will incentivise significant
carbon abatement. Progress updates at key stages.

Secured by Design and parking restrictions referred by Neighbourhoods Scrutiny –
request a report from the Lead Member for Planning and Strategic Director.
Chief Superintendent Mulligan may wish to attend or send a representative to the meeting.
Don Brown has also asked for himself, Kevin Brady and the GMP Architect to be invited.
Regional Housing Strategy - how the city region issues are being captured
