REPORTING PROCEDURE FOR REMOVAL OF
ABANDONED VEHICLES
1. On identification of a vehicle which appears to have been abandoned, the following details will be required by GMP;
Exact location of vehicle
Land owner if known, i.e. Housing / Development Services
Colour / Make / Model of vehicle
Tax disc – Y/N - If Y, expiry date
Condition of vehicle
2. The vehicle should be reported to Greater Manchester Police Call
Centre on 872 5050.
3. The Police will then carry out checks to see if the vehicle has been reported as stolen or has been used in a crime. The procedures they follow will depend on the condition / value of the vehicle.
