In June 2004, changes to the Ward boundaries in the city were implemented. Historically, the data
for this section is presented in table format, with a breakdown by Ward for Burglary Dwelling per
1,000 Household.

The latest Burglary Dwelling figures from the Police for Quarter 1 are based upon the new Ward
boundaries, and as such, are not directly comparable with the figures from previous update reports.
Furthermore, we do not have access to the number of households in the new Wards.

The Executive Group is asked to consider whether there is a requirement to recalculate the previous
data for comparative purposes, and if so, to identify when this recalculation will take place and by
whom.
