Objectives
 Design and build a roller coaster that can achieve a
specified time.
 Limitations included size and budget.
What we did…
 To start the ride the ball will travel through three
zigzags.
 Next the ball travels in a funnel.
 Then the ball rides along the track through some
vortexes/helixes and finish along the board.

 Gravitational Potential to Kinetic Energy of Ball
 Velocity of Ball in Funnel
 Coefficient of friction of pipe insulation, PVC pipe,
and funnel.
 Coefficient of restitution of nails.
Wrap it Up!
 Our original design of the coaster changed
dramatically.
 Encountered problems with finding materials at
reasonable prices and working condition.
 Finished coaster was a much better design then our
original.
