WHAT MAKES A WORLD HABITABLE?
What does a planet need to support life? Take a few minutes to list the things that are necessary
to maintain life as we know it on Earth and why they are important.
What conditions might limit life? Take a few minutes to jot these down along with why they are
undesirable.
Meet with another group and compare lists. How did you do?
On the following page is a list of habitability factors. Take some time to read them. Locate the
set of Habitability Cards. After reading about each of the worlds, decide if life is likely,
possible, or unlikely. Record your choice and reasons on the sheet provided.
