Sample Requirements Requirements for submitting samples: The laboratory currently accepts saliva, EDTA plasma, serum or isolated lymphocytes for analysis. The laboratory will also draw and process down whole blood to either EDTA plasma or serum for a fee. The laboratory is certified as a BSL2. Please make sure samples are labeled clearly with permanent marker and/or labeling tape in ONE layer. Multiple layers of tape make spinning down salivettes and vacutainers difficult. Serum, plasma, lymphocytes and saliva must be submitted on ice and will be stored at -20C (saliva), -80C (plasma, serum) or in liquid nitrogen (lymphocytes). You may purchase salivettes and appropriate storage vessels from the laboratory. If you provide your own, please make sure they are approved for the required temperature. Please submit the completed Sample Processing Request form with the samples. Please make sure that you provide enough sample to complete the requested analysis.
