THE UNIVERSITY OF TEXAS AT ARLINGTON ADMINISTRATIVE AND PROFESSIONAL (NON-TEACHING) JOB DESCRIPTION TITLE: Director of Student Information Services for Student Financial Aid and Admissions CODE: 0688 FUNCTION: To provide information and assistance to students interested in long- and shortterm student loan programs. To act as liaison between the institution and outside lenders as well as between student borrowers and lenders. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Responsibility for coordination of application and disbursements under Stafford, PLUS and Short Tern Loan (STL) programs and approval of disbursement of Perkins Loan advances. Responsibility for monitoring state and federal regulations pertaining to student loan programs. Supervises Administrative Assistant and College Work Study employees as assigned by the Associate Director or Director. ACCOUNTABILITY REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS REPORTS TO: Associate Director of Financial Aid INTERNAL CONTROL: Responsible for the design, execution, and effectiveness of a system of internal controls which provides reasonable assurance that department operations are effective and efficient, department assets are safeguarded, department financial information is reliable, and the department complies with applicable laws, regulations, policies, and procedures. WORKING CONDITIONS: Usual office conditions; hours are from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm unless otherwise specified. Significant daily overtime and/or weekend hours may be required. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Baccalaureate Degree from an accredited College or University. At least 5 years of financial aid and/or admissions computer experience. Supervisory experience.
