THE UNIVERSITY OF TEXAS AT ARLINGTON ADMINISTRATIVE AND PROFESSIONAL (NON-TEACHING) JOB DESCRIPTION TITLE: Assistant Vice President for Student Affairs / Budget Manager CODE: 0303 FUNCTION: Senior member of Student Affairs Leadership Team, serves as the budget manager of Student Affairs, coordinate communication and assessment strategies for the division, supervises division reports such as Unit Effectiveness Plans and Annual Reports. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Serve as budget manager for Office of VPSA and Division of Student Affairs. Prepare financial reports, supervise budget process for Division and serve as liaison between the VPSA, Provost and University Budget Office. Coordinate and manage Student Service Fee Advisory Committee Process and reports. Produce and implement marketing and communication strategies for Division of Student Affairs. Review all marketing and promotion materials for division. Oversee Student Affairs committees, Professional Development, Assessment, Communications and Benchmarking. Supervise divisional committees. Serve on various planning committees including; MavsMeet Convocation, Welcome Week Steering Committee, New Student Orientation Committee, Mascot Committee, UC Project Committee, Event Coordination Task Force, Homecoming, Campus Communicators, etc. Chair or co-chair various Divisional Committees including, Student Affairs Communications Committee, MavsMeet Marketing Committee, Welcome Week Marketing Committee and Quality Enhancement Plan Marketing Committee. Chair Planning Calendar Committee. Supervise Administrative Assistant, Coordinator for Marketing and Student Affairs and a part-time staff intern. Coordinate various special events for VPSA. Coordinate special projects assigned by VPSA. Coordinate Divisional assessment projects. Manage Division of Student Affairs Web page. ACCOUNTABILITY REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS REPORTS TO: VP for Student Affairs SUPERVISION: INTERNAL CONTROL: Responsible for the design, execution, and effectiveness of a system of internal controls which provides reasonable assurance that department operations are effective and efficient, department assets are safeguarded, department financial information is reliable, and the department complies with applicable laws, regulations, policies and procedures. WORKING CONDITIONS: Exposure to standard office conditions; Repetitive use of a keyboard at a workstation; Use of manual dexterity; Climbing of stairs; Lifting and moving; Position will require evening and weekend hours and occasional travel. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Master's degree in a related area, plus six years related experience. Must have a minimum of three years of management experience. Higher education may substitute for experience on a year for year basis. Equivalent combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.
