PURPOSE: To perform radiologic examinations accurately of the entire skeletal system and
process-exposed films according to approved guidelines. Responsible for managing activities
necessary to provide safe radiologic examinations.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Prepares x-ray room daily for examinations and ensures
equipment is set up and functional. Accurately performs all routine and special radiographs with
minimal repeat films. Completes all paperwork necessary for processing films and for reporting
final results and ensures all exams are correctly charged. Authenticates and dates reports of all
examinations performed and makes them a part of the patient's clinical record. Duplicates films
as requested. Orders supplies. Retrieves films for staff physician as required. Maintains
personnel exposure records. Maintains records, reports of services and diagnostic images in a
readily accessible location for the time required by applicable laws and policies. Assumes
responsibility for scheduling and maintaining compliance testing as required by Texas
Regulations for Control of Radiation. Performs additional duties as assigned.
REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS:
REPORTS TO: General supervision from the Chief of Staff.

REQUIRED EDUCATION: $education
REQUIRED EDUCATION-OTHER: Registered with the American Registry of Radiologic
Technologists (AART). Certified as an MRT by the Texas Department of Health.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE / COMPETENCIES-OTHER:
REQUIRED EXPERIENCES/COMPETENCIES: One year of experience in a clinic or
hospital setting or equivalent.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS: Ability to work with standard x-ray equipment. Periodic evaluation
by qualified personnel of energy sources and of all safety measures followed, including
calibration of equipment in compliance with federal, state and local laws and regulations.
Exactness in following written and oral orders. Usual diagnostic imaging exposure and related
hazards. Specific job requirements or physical location of positions allocated to this
classification render the position security sensitive and thereby subject to the provisions of
Section 51.215 Texas Education Code.
