Job Title (code): Administrative Assistant I (9008) Purpose Purpose: To provide skilled administrative support to Health Services patients and staff by performing duties related to front office operations, managing unit personnel files and staff payroll and maintaining the credentialing and privileging function for licensed healthcare professionals. Essential Functions Function 1: Determine patient eligibility for care based on regulations and policy, answer phones and determine when a patient must be sent to nursing for triage, schedule appointments, greet and process incoming patients, schedule follow-up appointments, close the front office daily. 30 % Time Function 2: Process new staff into the Health Center, maintain personnel files according to Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care (AAAHC) standards, monitor and track staff training, process time reporting and payroll, ensure casual staff agreements are current and processed according to university requirements. 10 % Time Function 3: Receive approved requests for travel, process requests, ensure staff do not exceed annual continuing medical education allotments, process travel vouchers for payment. 10 % Time Function 4: Manage the credentialing and privileging activities for all licensed professional staff according to AAAHC standards. Initiate the credentialing process, review completed applications and conduct primary source verification of the information submitted, assemble credentialing and privileging files for each licensed professional, enter credentialing information into a spreadsheet with continuous review to ensure all requirements are current and up to date. 20 % Time Function 5: Support Health Services Director. Take minutes of the following committees: Department Head/Quality Improvement, Providers' Committee, Advisory Committee, and publish minutes within five business days following each meeting. 30 % Time Marginal/Incidental Functions Marginal/Incidental Functions: Other functions as assigned. Qualifications Required Qualifications: Bachelor's degree with 1 year upper level secretarial experience OR high school or equivalent with 5 years of administrative, secretarial, and clerical experience.
