TITLE: Executive Director, University Housing
CODE: 0344
FUNCTION: Provide property management supervisions for the university owned apartments,
houses and commercial rent properties. Provide contract management and administrative
services related to ground leases, vending contract and service agreements.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Implement marketing strategies for rental properties,
oversee leasing activity, perform market analysis, recommend rental rates and initiate
advertising. Supervision: Recruit, select, train, supervise and evaluate FT apt mgr, leasing staff,
Dir Campus Card. Provide administrative mgmt of ground leases, service contracts & vending
agreements. Service agreements include: pest control, swimming pool maintenance, landscape
maintenance, filter service, laundry vending machines & various remodeling contracts. Develop
and supervise maintenance of appropriate administrative systems related to leases, contracts,
keys, occupant & property records. Implement and maintain appropriate info systems technology
to provide effective and efficient operations. Develop and implement policies and procedures
related to the successful mgmt of the rental properties. Interpret regulations and decide on
questionable cases. Recommend updates to publications. Inform residents of issues affecting
their community. Respond to complaints. Provide counseling to individual students. Initiate
necessary tenant discipline & evictions. Oversee rent collection activity in cooperation with the
Bursar's Services. Inspect property to determine need for maintenance and renovation.
Coordinate necessary services with departmental staff or contractors. Assess property damage
and cleaning charges for vacating residents. Develop specifications for the purchase of goods and
services. Assist in the development and administration of departmental budget. Serve as liaison
with other agencies and departments to facilitate program development.

REPORTS TO: Assistant VP Housing and University Center
SUPERVISES: Hire; Evaluate; Discipline; Discharge; Number of employees supervised (nonstudents) 4
INTERNAL CONTROL: Responsible for the design, execution, and effectiveness of a system
of internal controls which provides reasonable assurance that department operations are effective
and efficient, department assets are safeguarded, department financial information is reliable, and
the department complies with applicable laws, regulations, policies, and procedures.
WORKING CONDITIONS: Exposure to standard office conditions; Repetitive use of a
keyboard at a workstation; Climbing of stairs; On call 24 hours, 7 days a week for emergencies.
Required to live on campus.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Master's degree and seven years of experience in the
management of rental properties. Equivalent combination of relevant education and experience
may be substituted as appropriate.
