Purpose
Purpose:
To provide professional administrative and coordination skills in the coordination of
various phases and activities of the Continuing Education and Conference Center
Management program within the Division for Enterprise Development. Responsible
for assisting the Manager or Director with planning, supervision and coor
Essential Functions
Function 1:
Professionally plans, coordinates, budgets, and makes logistical arrangements for
conferences, business-related meetings, events, and associated activity functions.
20 % Time
Function 2:
Develops conference clients/business and maintains strong business relationships
with internal and external resources and service providers.

Function 3:
Selects key suppliers, assists with budget preparation, negotiates and coordinates
execution of contracts in compliance with University guidelines and serves as a
valued advisor to clients in analyzing and recommending the most productive, costeffective venues and formats for events and conferences.

Function 4:
Coordinates and provides supervision to administrative staff to achieve
program/conference objectives and maintains budgets and creates financial reports.

Function 5:
Provides regular communication to Division management regarding overall status of
events and corresponding fiscal viability of program.

Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in a related field and at least two years of event management,
meeting planning and conferences. Applicants must include in their online resume

Education: college or college degree, list school name, degree type, major,
graduated or not, and hours completed if not graduated.
Preferred Qualifications:
Strong computer experience. Proficiency with Office, Google Docs, and Adobe
products as well as event specific software. Previous experience with CVENT a
strong plus. Budget and financial reporting ability, strong verbal and written
communication skills, proven organization and time management skills, adept in
project management and multi-tasking, self-starter, team player, detail and deadline
oriented, interpersonal skills, marketing and public relations skills.
