THE UNIVERSITY OF TEXAS AT ARLINGTON ADMINISTRATIVE AND PROFESSIONAL (NON-TEACHING) JOB DESCRIPTION TITLE: Dean, Architecture CODE: 0335 FUNCTION: To provide administrative oversight and management of the School of Architecture. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Provides administrative oversight and management of the Office of the Dean of the School of Architecture and administrative oversight and supervision of directors of departments within the School of Architecture. Has primary responsibility for management of budget and personnel of the Office of the Dean and supervision of budget and personnel matters for the departments and other units within the School of Architecture. Creates and implements long and short range planning. Advises and consults with administration and management regarding plans, issues, policies and procedures associated with assigned areas of responsibilities. Attends or represents the School of Architecture at meetings, maintains effective relationships with external regulatory and funding bodies as required. Ensures compliance with all applicable University policies and local, state and federal requirements. ACCOUNTABILITY: Reporting Relationships Reports to: Provost Supervises: School of Architecture administrative staff including directors of departments, secretarial and clerical personnel INTERNAL CONTROL: Responsible for the design, execution, and effectiveness of a system of internal controls which provides reasonable assurance that department operations are effective and efficient, department assets are safeguarded, department financial information is reliable, and the department complies with applicable laws, regulations, policies, and procedures.
