THE UNIVERSITY OF TEXAS AT ARLINGTON ADMINISTRATIVE AND PROFESSIONAL (NON-TEACHING) JOB DESCRIPTION TITLE: Director of Counseling Services CODE: 0345 FUNCTION: The Director of Counseling Services is responsible for the coordination and supervision of the personal, academic, and career counseling services of the office. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Prepare and monitor the Counseling Services Budget. Prepare reports as requested by University administrators and completing surveys/questionnaires from professional organizations. Providing leadership and oversight of institutional effectiveness efforts in Counseling Service including the use of evaluation and results and linking results to planning. Provide public relations and outreach activities to inform faculty, staff, and students about services offered by the counseling office. Responsible for working with counseling staff in planning and implementing programs, developing objectives, and evaluating outcomes. Ensure that staff openings are filled and seeing that new employees are effectively oriented and trained. Plan and implement staff development programs. Participate on University committees and professional organizations to enhance personal and professional skills and knowledge. Assist Associate Director in supervising counselors in case management. Schedule individual counseling sessions with students as needed. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Master's degree in related field. Eight years experience in counseling or related field. Equivalent combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.
