Library Assistant II Purpose Purpose: Work closely with the Dean and Associate University Librarian to craft print and digital correspondence from Library Administration. Create and maintain background research in support of development and promotion of the libraries and research and draft summaries on emerging issues and and best practices in libraries. Essential Functions Function 1: Create drafts of messages for the Library Dean's Twitter and Blog accounts at minimum 2 times each week. Develop additional social media outlets for the Dean and Associate University Librarian. 30 % Time Function 2: Create drafts of correspondence cards, letters, emails from Dean and or Associate University Librarian to prospects, donors, Friends of the Library members, staff, and other constituents. 30 % Time Function 3: Work with Dean and or Associate University Librarian to draft speeches and develop presentations. 10 % Time Function 4: Create drafts of white papers. Create and maintain background research in support of development. 10 % Time Function 5: Draft regular updates for library staff on Admin activities. Research and draft summaries on emerging issues and best practices in libraries for Libraries? Dean. 10 % Time Function 6: Monitor social media posts on emerging issues. Assist with special events. 10 % Time Function 7: % Time Function 8: % Time Marginal/Incidental Functions Marginal/Incidental Functions: General office operations. Serves on Library and University committees. Required to work nights, weekedns, and holidays. Performs related duties as assigned. Qualifications Required Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in English, Journalism, Communications, or equivalent Preferred Qualifications: Excellent written communication skills, strong oral communication skills, organizational skills and interpersonal skills.
