I. SELF ASSESSMENT/PROFESSIONAL PERFORMANCE AND GROWTH
A. Describe your role as a teacher at Viterbo.
 Summarize your role in the educational program and include a list of courses taught by semester,
enrollments, and whether the course is a new course, a new-to-you course, or an existing course.
B. Reflect upon and provide a narrative illustrating your effectiveness in teaching courses assigned in a
manner that promotes student learning.
 Include content that describes how your teaching methodologies promote student learning. Identify
actions taken for continuous quality improvement in your classes. Other content may include how
you provide feedback on student work and how you contribute to the educational mission of the
University/School/department in curricular activities.
 Provide evidence of student evaluations – quantitative and qualitative analysis of evaluation ratings
and comments. Provide a reflection on the evaluation and comments.
C. Reflect on your effectiveness in working with students in and outside the classroom to promote a positive
environment for learning and students’ personal development.
 Include content that describes how students view your availability and approachability outside the
class as well as how you demonstrate respect for the individual learner and diversity of thought and
personal differences in and out of the classroom. Additionally, describe your insight of campus
resources for students and actions taken to guide students to these resources, as appropriate.
