This organization shall be called GGC Anime Club. (Abbreviated hereafter as GAC).
Student Organizations provide an opportunity to take lessons learned inside the classroom and apply them outside the classroom. They are intended to be fun outlets for involvement, leadership, and service on GGC’s campus. The mission of all student organizations and/or clubs at Geogia Gwinnett College will advance the mission of the institution while concurrently supp orting GGC’s Integrated Education
Experience (IEE) goals.
GGC’s Integrated Education Experience program will produce graduates who:
1. Clearly communicate ideas in written and oral form.
2. Demonstrate creativity and critical thinking in inter- and multi- disciplinary contexts.
3. Demonstrate effective use of information technology.
4. Demonstrate an ability to collaborate in diverse and global contexts.
5. Demonstrate an understanding of human and institutional decision making from multiple perspectives.
6. Demonstrate an understanding of moral and ethical principles.
7. Demonstrate and apply leadership principles.
The Purpose of the Organization is to provide an opportunity to learn more about Japanese culture and history. It shall function as a cultural learning instrument to the GGC community by providing cultural programs and materials, which illustrate different aspects of the culture and can give insights into a distinctly different culture from our own.
Goals:
1. Having at least 7 or more members for the Anime Club.
2. Recruiting 5 new members per semester.
3. Understanding of some of the Basic Language (Spoken/Written) by introducing at least 3 new words or characters (“Kana”/”Kanji”) at each meeting.
4. Hosting/Attending at least 1 event of interest to the club members per semester. (Excluding
Summer Semester)
5. Collaboration with other clubs, when possible, to host events of mutual interests. For example in creating a film festival with ASA or the Film Club.
6. Expose members and GGC community to Japanese Animation.
7. Exposure to Japanese Culture & History. – Ex: “Matsuri (festivals)”, “Bakumatsu (Japanese civil war)”, “Sengoku jidai (Warring States Era)”
Eligibility: In general membership is available to all students enrolled in Georgia Gwinnett College.
Faculty/Staff and alumni may serve in advisory and/or support roles.
Regulations: Members are expected to abide by all applicable rules and policies of Georgia Gwinnett
College, the Board of Regents, and local, state, and federal laws as well as all additional rules and policies stated herein.
Waiver of Liability: membership status.
All members must sign and submit a Waiver of Liability in order to receive

Dues: Membership is free to all students, faculty, staff, and alumni of Georgia Gwinnett College.
Limitations: Student membership is limited to students enrolled in Georgia Gwinnett College with a minimum 2.5 GPA, which is consistent with the Student Handbook.
Non-Discrimination: Membership will not be denied on the basis of race, creed, color, religion, national origin, gender, age, or disability.
Non-Hazing: Hazing will not be used as a condition of membership in this organization under any circumstances.
Weekly Meetings: The club shall hold weekly meetings for the club members each week during the semester on Tuesdays from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm throughout both the fall and spring semesters. If the school is to be closed for any reason on the day/time designated for the meeting, then there will be no meeting that week.
Special Meetings: Special meetings may be called by the president for any purpose, but must be at a date/time designated that at least a majority of the active members will be able to attend (it is not required that a majority actually be in attendance). However, if a majority of the active members are not in attendance no club business will be able to be transacted during that meeting.
Quorum: A simply majority of the active club members, represented in person or by proxy, shall constitute a quorum at a meeting of members. If fewer than the required amount of members are represented at the meeting then no club business may be voted upon at that meeting and any pending club business will be post-poned to a later meeting in which a quorum can be acheived.
Proxies: At all meetings of members, a member may vote by proxy executed in writing by the member. Such proxy shall be filed with the secretary before or at the time of the meeting. All proxy statements should list a date in which they will be valid through, if such date is missing then a proxy will only be considered valid through the end of the first meeting for which the proxy was filed.
Guests: Members may invite guests to any meeting of the club or any event sponsored/held by the club. However, if any fees are required for participation in a particular event the guest will be expected to pay the fee just as any club member must. For any event in which the number of attendees is limited, any guests who will be attending must first be approved by a current officer of the club.
Attendance: Attendance is an expectation of this club for active members. Active members should attend at least half of the meetings held in a given semester.
Minutes: Minutes of the club meetings shall be provided to the president within two weeks after each meeting is held (though optimally should be reported before the next meeting). Minutes should cover any decisions made by the club, what was watched that during the meeting and who was in attendance, however, it does not need to include times or the order in which things took place.
Free membership will be available to every GGC student on campus. The only requirements for club membership is to have an interest in and enjoy watching Japanese Animation, sign a waiver of liability, and have a minimum of 2.5 GPA. The current finance of the club is pending accordance with club-ratified procedural rules and the school, therefore shall handle it in the near future.

1. Student Activity Fees will be allocated to registered student organizations who submit requests according to the policies and procedures issued by the Student Activity Fee Allocation Committee
(SAFAC).
2. All fundraising, gifts and donations, and requests for funds will follow the policies and procedures set forth by GGC Development.
3. Any fees, dues, or assessments on the membership of the club will be nominal and shall only be for the purpose of meeting the administrative and operational costs of the club.
4. A thorough audit by a qualified person [or treasurer] shall be made once each year of all the club’s financial transactions.
5. Effective Fall semester 2009, club membership is free for all enrolled students, faculty, staff, and alumni of GGC who meet all necessary requirements specified herein.
The Anime Club officers shall consist of a President, Treasurer, Secretary, and Librarian.
Each officer shall specifically:
1. The President Shall: i. Preside over all meetings according to scheduled times. ii. Oversee and coordinate all activities of the club; ensuring that the wishes of the membership are met. iii. Coordinate with other clubs and departments to promote GAC.
2. The Treasurer Shall: i. Take over the duties of the President or Secretary in the absence of either or both. ii. Keep records of all financial accounts and transactions. iii. Plan all financial events. (ie. Festivals, Conventions, Foods/Drinks, etc.)
3. The Secretary Shall: i. Maintain all related documentation and materials. ii. Maintain the roster of membership. iii. Maintain a record of meetings/showings. iv. Provide for advertising of meetings/showings and other events.
4. The Librarian Shall: i. Obtain and distribute, or provide for distribution of information to other clubs. ii. Manage the club library in the near future. (ie. Keeping track of check in/out of materials. Manga,
Newspaper, CD, etc.)
The GGC Faculty/Staff Advisor or designated representative must be present for club/organization meetings, which is Dr. Kyle Huff.
1. Vacant officer positions are defined as positions that have no current active member filling the position for any reason other than temporary absence.
2. Any vacant officer positions shall be announced as soon as the position is open. Vacant officer positions shall then be filled by election at the first available meeting in which a quorum is achieved after the vacancy announcement.

3. Officers shall be regularly elected each semester by the members of the group. Elections shall be held at the last meeting of the semester. The term of office shall start on the first day of the following semester and shall terminate on the last day of that semester.
4. Any GAC member may be nominated for election. Nominations shall be issued at or before the election meeting and confirmed by the nominee. Each nominee must be present to be a candidate. Each member shall have one vote by secret ballot, and may vote by written proxy if necessary. A simple majority of the collected votes is all that is necessary to win.
5. Two week notice of elections shall be given by the secretary on the newsgroup and/or mailing list and elections must be announced at the meeting prior.
The Parliamentary authority of this organization shall be its constitution and by-laws. The latest edition of
Robert’s Rule of Order shall be Parliamentary authority of all matter not covered in the constitution or Bylaws.
(ie. Robert's Rules of Order Newly Revised , 10th ed. (Cambridge, Mass.: Perseus Publishing, 2000)
1. Any officers of this organization can be impeached.
2. Impeachment may be initiated by petition, in writing, by one quarter or more of the active members, when presented by the members in a regular meeting.
3. At the next meeting the accuser, members signing the petition, and accused Officer Member in question, shall present their case to the members. After both cases are heard, a written vote shall be taken. In the case of an absence, the case is decided in the favor of the attending party.
4. All members/advisors are expected to adhere to the standards of the GGC Code of Conduct.
All amendments must be passed by a 2/3 vote of the voting membership and must be introduced by either a voting member or a committee. 3/5 of the active club members on the roster must be present for the meeting in which the vote is made.
All club members and advisors are expected to adhere to the guidelines noted above and to be familiar with the GGC Student Handbook in its entirety. Violations of the above guidelines, the GGC Code of
Conduct, Student Handbook, or other institutional policies may result in disciplinary procedures and/or suspension of club/organization privileges.
