The following criteria are applied to the 13 Quality Indicators of the Counseling Standards. This rubric is found within the electronic portfolio evaluation mode. Level Evidence (0) Unacceptable (0 pts.) Unacceptable – A meager writing effort. The student does not appear to understand the concepts underlying in the quality indicator. No artifacts or inappropriate artifacts. Extensive errors in the use of standard written English (mechanics, usage, grammar, spelling, and/or syntax.). (1) Below Expectations (1 pts.) Below Expectations – Demonstrates a limited understanding of the quality indicator. Some key components of the reflective statement are vague or missing. There are unacceptable errors in the use of standard written English. (2) Meets the Standard (2 pts.) Meets the Standard – Demonstrates an acceptable understanding of the quality indicator and supported by an appropriate artifact. The reflection contains satisfactory descriptions, but may contain a few errors in spelling or mechanics. (3) Above Expectations (3 pts.) Above Expectations – The student clearly demonstrates an understanding of the concepts underlying in the quality indicator. The discussion of the artifact provides clear evidence of the artifact’s importance and relatedness to the quality indicator. There is a detailed description and a thoughtful reflection with no errors. (4) Outstanding (4 pts.) Outstanding – The student demonstrates a superior understanding of the concepts underlying the quality indicator. The artifact is an excellent selection with a discussion of the artifact that provides clear evidence of the artifact’s importance and relatedness to the quality indicator. The reflection is lengthy and exhibits detailed descriptions. Comments
