Project Award Requirements 1. Have at least 2 years of work in the project and be in at least 7th grade. Recognition is based on project achievement, evidence of learning, citizenship and related experiences. 2. Worksheets in projects where needed (beef, dairy, horse, dog, horticulture, swine, sheep, crop, poultry, photography). 3. For the projects listed below, an award can only be received once. 4. However, members may also express an interest in being considered for one of these awards. The following awards are open to Intermediate and Senior 4-H Members. _____ Livestock Achievement - To recognize a member, who has a variety of livestock projects, has gained skill and knowledge about them and is showing evidence of personal growth in livestock production. Awards for 11th and 12th grade members Requirements- needed for the awards listed below are: 1. Junior or Senior in high school this fall. 2. Minimum of three years project work. 3. Member should have demonstrated leadership beyond the local club level and have a good overall 4-H record. 4. For leadership and citizenship awards, members must be enrolled in the project. 5. Members may receive these awards only once. _____ Leadership- recognition to young people who have acquired and demonstrated leadership skills and abilities. Must have been enrolled in this project. _____ Achievement- recognition of young people who have shown outstanding personal growth through participation in a wide variety of 4-H projects. _____ Citizenship- recognition of young people who have learned the meaning of citizenship and have demonstrated their understanding through good citizenship practices. Must have been enrolled in this project. _____ Agriculture- recognition of young people who have grown personally through participation in a wide variety of agricultural projects and programs. _____ National Leadership Award (formerly the Danforth “I Dare You” Award)- Given to an outstanding 4-H member for excellence in leadership and personal growth. _____ Merit- recognition to members whose accomplishments reflect significant personal growth, active citizenship, earned club and community leadership, competency on project work, and unselfish service to 4-H members and others. 2
