Adair County 4-H Alumni Speak Out Bobbi Williams Education I graduated from Greenfield High School and the Iowa Barber College where I worked as barber for about 10 years. Four years ago I went to classes to receive my State of Iowa Board of Educational Examiners Paraeducator Certificate. Career I am currently a paraeducator in the Nodaway Valley High School special education department. Family Married to my husband Jim and have a daughter Nicole (24). She married Danny Moser in October of this year and they have a 7 month old daughter, Kaylee. 4-H involvement I was a member of the Lee Blue Ribbons and Lee Leaders 4-H groups through graduation. Also a member of the Adair County 4-H Youth Council serving as president. Favorite part of 4-H My favorite part of 4-H had to be learning how to show cattle. After losing my dad, we had wonderful leaders and friends who stepped in to help us. Life skills gained Being able to try new things, work together as a group, and being responsible for myself and my animals would be on the top of the skills learned through 4-H. Advice to 4-H’ers Don’t be afraid to try new things, it could turn out to be a career or hobby when you get older. Why you continue to volunteer for 4-H? I started volunteering when my daughter was in 4-H and learned new skills with her. After she graduated, I still enjoyed spending time with the kids and turned in to the leader that “stepped in” to help other kids! Aside from spending time with my family, volunteering is a weekly event in both Jim and my lives. Without volunteers, a lot of wonderful programs and projects wouldn’t get done!
