Greene County Community Foundation offers Grants Does your local non-profit organization or government entity need a jump start financially for a new project it’s considering? Would leveraging additional dollars through a local grant help improve some aspect of our Greene County quality of life? Or have you been pondering a new community project, but need some assistance getting it implemented? Leaders from throughout Greene County have been busy establishing the Greene County Community Foundation (GCCF) to help foster community-based philanthropy throughout the county. The group recently received a state award which will be used to advance philanthropy and fund charitable projects benefiting the citizens of Greene County. Twenty five percent of the award, by law, is to be invested in the community foundation’s permanent endowment, with the other seventy five percent granted out. The 2008 GCCF grant application form and grant guidelines for these funds will be available beginning Wednesday January 2, 2008. Deadline for the submitting the completed application is Friday, February 15 at 4:30 pm. The maximum size of award is $7,500, with the minimum of $1,000. Match requirements apply, which is outlined on the application form package.
