Agricultural Production and Natural Resources Achievement Award Application Name Last Grade Completed Club Award Description: Develop knowledge and respect for agriculture, horticulture or forestry and its importance to the community. Show growth in skills that contribute to profitable, efficient farming and a satisfying way of life. Adapt and apply the best management practices and research to farming, horticulture or forestry, as well as demonstrated the qualities of citizenship, communication and leadership. Examples: Crop production Vegetable/flower Gardening Research/comparing practices, methods and products used in farming or gardening Farm Safety Home Grounds Improvement Forestry Application Guidelines: Recipient must: Have completed at least 9th grade by time of application. Can only receive this award one time. Have two citizenship, leadership or communication activities within a related project area. (ex. One communication activity and one leadership activity, not two communication activities.) Must have exhibited at the Hancock County fair in a related project area in the year award is applied for. (Entomology, Environment, Forestry, Horticulture, and Crop Production) Definitions: Communication: Presentation, demonstration, talk in front of club members or another audience Leadership: This experience is beyond your family and means teaching others/taking responsibility for organizing events/activities – “helping a group to attain its goal” Citizenship: This experience is beyond your family and means how we talk, act, think and feel towards others. Activities could include anything that will benefit the community, school, church group, a neighbor, etc. 1. Give a brief overview on how your work and growth in the project areas has progressively advanced over your 4-H years. 2. Describe your exhibits related to this award. 3.
