The plan is to hike 5 days and have one day to explore cultural area, like the Escalante
Petrified Forest. It is a 4 hour trip from Las Vegas to town of Escalante; in case any
luggage is late in arrival, we will drive to Zion, stay 2 nights there, do 2 days of hiking
and continue to Escalante and Torrey in the Glen Canyon area. We might include a visit
to Bryce Canyon as well. Waiting for feedback from Linda upon her return to adjust
travel and visits.
We plan to stay in Springdale area, near Zion, in Escalante, and Torrey; use motel
accomodations, with breakfast included. In Escalante we have to buy our breakfast at
Circle D motel.
Breakfast to be taken at the motel, lunch bagged, dinner out. There should not be any
additional meals for leaders needed. If possible, we buy our own lunch fixings in
Escalante.
We will rent SUVs/4 whell drive if needed, or vans in order to accomplish riding on
tough roads in the area, most likely gravel. Will get latest information from Ranger/BLM
before departure.

No first aid is available within the monument. The nearest hospitals are located in Page,
Arizona, and Panguitch (about 60 miles northwest of Escalante) and Kanab, Utah.
Limited medical services are available in Escalante.
