Summary
Please provide a description of the trip and the activities planned. If available, please include or attach an itinerary.
Group will fly by commercial airline from their home airport to the capital of Slovenia,
Ljubljana. We will spend the three nights in the capital, then transfer to the Lake Bohinj area for 3 nights. Then we will transfer to Kranjska Gora for four nights, from there we will transfer to Bovec for three nights. On the last day we will then transfer to Ljubljana for the departure. We will do day hikes while in the alpine villages, wherever possible we will offer different intensity of hikes as well as having scheduled non hiking days.
Two to three star small hotels in Alpine villages and in Ljubljana, in double occupancy rooms or small apartments with ensuite bath.

Breakfast at hotel, lunch will be on the trail, and dinner either in local restaurants or at hotel. Six dinners and all breakfast are included in cost of trip.

The participants must be able to demonstrate that they can hike at elevations above 4000 ft on exposed and rocky terrain. A guideline for hiking abilities will be supplied with the prospectus so participants can rate themselves. Leader/co-leader will follow up with
AMC local chapter contacts to see if participants will be a good fit for this trip. Phone calls will be used if uncertain about abilities and being a group player.

Discussion and education on "Leave No Trace" as well as hiker etiquette, and techniques for acclimatization. The main recreation will be hiking with the opportunity to visit local World War I historical exhibits and learn of the areas importance during the war.

Slipping off trail, rock fall, exposure on cliffs, rain and cold exposure. Also potential exposure to ticks.

Emergency medical services are available 24 hours a day within Slovenia by dialing 112.
Routine medical and dental assistance is also available in each of the alpine villages, while larger cities such as Ljubljana have a hospital with a full range of specialiests.

English is widely spoken, as well as some French (leader is fluent) and Polish (co leader is fluent).
Leaders will carry a first aid kit with SOLO book and soap note as well as a cell phone equipped for usage over seas. equipment (satellite phone, two-way radios) do you plan to use, if any?

Emergency AWFA assistance will be implemented immediately, if medical evacuation is needed we will call the 112 emergency number. Unusually for the Alps, mountain rescue is free in Slovenia. Mountain rescue teams are extremely well organized with a network of 17 bases around the country. A helicopter is on duty at Brnik airport during the summer months and its reponse time is an everage of 1.5 hours.

What will be your cancellation policy for the participants?
If you cancel after being accepted for the trip, $100 is non-refundable. But if you cancel after April 1st, 2016, minimally $200 is nonrefundable; if (and only if) another person takes your place. We will establish a waiting list. Should another person replace you, you will be charged only the $200 cancellation fee. However, your cancellation shall not raise the cost of the trip to any of the participants or trip leaders.
Thus if you cancel and are not replaced, you will forfeit the $200 plus the per capita expenses already incurred and any other unpaid expenses for which the trip cannot obtain a refund. You may forfeit the entire trip fee. Flight tickets once purchased become your property and are generally non-refundable. We strongly recommend that you purchase travel insurance. Information on a company recommended by the AMC will be sent to the participants. Please note: The price of this Adventure travel trip is given in good faith based on current tariffs and rates and is subject to change. Any tariff/rate increases will be passed on to participants.
