To lead an Adventure Travel trip you must have current CPR and WFA certifications at the time of your trip (or AWFA
for all backcountry trips). If you do not have the required level of certification at the time you submit your proposal or it
will expire before the date of your trip, you will need to make arrangements to recertify in a timely manner and you
should describe your plans to do so in a note.

Fly to Anchorage, spend one day there exploring Anchorage, shuttle to the beginning of
Resurrection Pass trail and backpack 4 days, 3 nights. Shuttle to Seward, where we spend
3 days, taking boat tour to Kenai Fjord National Park and hiking. Return back to
Anchorage and rent the car to drive to Wrangell – St. Elias national park where we do
another backpack. We will have 2 evenings in the village of McCarthy where we have a
chance to mingle with local people and learn about history and culture of McCarthy.
Hostel in Anchorage, mid range hotel in Seward, lodge in McCarthy, the rest is tenting.

When not on the backpack we will eat in restaurants, or in hotels (where breakfast is
included) or on the boat where lunch and dinner is included. Backpacking meals will be
provided, including lunches. Lunches also will be provided for 2 hiking days.

Appropriate conditioning and backpacking experience is very important this is a remote
area. Meal planning, gear and conditioning will be discussed extensively with each
participant.

Definitely, we will gather as many people as possible for a hike prior to our trip.
This trip meets the mission of the AMC in that it includes physical activities respectful
of the environment. We will be experiencing a place very different from where we live
and pre-trip recommendations for reading on the history and ecology of the area will be
made. Also we will take advantage of US Park Service information and presentations.
Itinerary will include visit to several national parks and guided boat tour and possible
visit to the gold mine.

The AMC cancellation policy is based on the simple precept that your cancellation
