Form Revised July 2013
The trip consists of seven days of winter sports focused on cross-country skiing. The
Olympia region is Europe's finest XC resort area featuring 279KM of groomed XC trails.
In addition, good alpine skiing and snow shoeing is nearby.
We will stay a single full-service hotel in the Olympia region, most likely in the village
of Seefeld itself. There are many hotels available from which to choose.
Breakfast and dinner will be prepared by the hotel. Lunches will be purchased by the
participants. The budget includes leaders' lunches since they are an out-of-pocket travel
expense.
A local bus pass that gives the participants free transportation throughout the region.
Will leaders be drivers?
Will volunteer participants be drivers?
If so, MVR checks will be needed. See Appendix S1.

Level of fitness, screening concerns, experience with equipment or activity
XC skiing is an aerobically intensive support. Participants may attempt longer or more
difficult trails than they are capable of.
A full screening process will eliminate many potential problems. Those that arise will be
dealt with on an individual basis. We will look for people with recent XC experience and
at least intermediate proficiency, tolerance of the constraints of group outings, and,
ideally, experience in foreign countries.
