Fly into Fresno, rent cars and drive to Grant Grove in King's Canyon NP. 3 nights in Grant Grove. Choice of day hikes to Sequoia groves, to Kings Canyon and to Mt. Alta. A visit to a limestone cave is another option. On forth day, drive to Silver City in the Mineral King district of Sequoia NP. Stay 5 nights. Mineral King offers 11 steep alpine trails which traverse the eastern areas of Sequoia NP. On the last day, drive back to Fresno and depart. 9/1-4 Grand Grove - 5-8 Rustic Cabins, each with 2 beds and shared bath facilities (3 nights). 9/4-9 Silver City Resort - 2 adjoining chalets, each sleeping 5 and full kitchen (5 nights) and a historical cabin sleeping 4. In Grant Grove, breakfast and dinner at a local restaurant. In Silver City, we will shop for groceries and prepare all meals in the chalets with the leader supervising and rotating chefs.
