Even though some roads have no shoulders, the drivers in France are considered courteous and give enough room for bikers. Political concerns, crime, language translation, terrorism Foreign Country Potential hazards Country is politically stable; however petty crime is still common, and it is always wise to be cautious. Response Warn group about safeguarding passports, money and credit cards; monitor for unusual crime activity against tourists in advance. Road conditions, drivers, insurance Transportation Potential hazards The roads are all paved, but some may have moderate traffic at times. Response There are numerous bike tours through France and the roads we will be riding are very common for biking. We will have maps and stop often to keep everyone together.
