Spend 9 days in Antigua, Guatemala doing 5 days of volunteer work in rural areas,
mostly with children. Will do walking tour of Antigua, half day volcano hike and give
people a free day to visit markets or do more hiking/touring.

All breakfasts are included at hotel, and 5 of the lunches are provided on volunteer days.

This is a humanitarian service trip, and the group we will be using, Ambassadors for
Children, does sustainable service projects around the world. We will be volunteering in
the spirit of the AMC, exploring the local culture and hiking a volcano.

Ambassadors for Children operates these service trips and has a good relationship
with local non-profits to provide us with the opportunity to do community service.
They will coordinate all volunteer activity, provide ground transporation and tour
guides.

They provide vehicles on call to transport to the local hospital. Participants will have
medi-vac insurance. We will be in urban settings except the half day climb up the
volcano.

Hike up volcano is not difficult, with no water crossings. It is rainy season, so there
could be some flooding.

AFC has contacts at the US embassy. No threats exist in Guatemala at the moment, so
evacuation except for medical reasons would be necessary.
Antigua has a lot of hospitals, many that cater to tourists. The major capital is only 45
minutes by car.
