Day-hiking in northern mountains of New Mexico. Fly to and from Albuquerque. Stay in

Hike ~10 mi./day in the southernmost range of the Rocky Mountains, the
Sangre de Cristo. We’ll see alpine lakes, tumbling streams, wildflowers
and rugged peaks. A lot of the hiking will be above treeline with
spectacular views. A highlight of the trip will be the opportunity to climb
13,161 foot Wheeler Peak, the highest point in New Mexico. We will fly
to Albuquerque and continue on to Santa Fe and Taos, beautiful, historic
cities we can explore and learn about after our day of hiking. Stay in
nearby motels. Should be exp. hikers in good cond. $1,500 incl. air/ground

Vehicles: 1 vehicle (full size 4-door sedan) per 3 participants. 1 vehicle $390 per 8 days. When
number of participants not divisible by 3, 1 compact per 2 participants, $320 per 1 days.
Food: Dinners only - $20 per day per person 8 days.
Motel: 2 persons per room $85 per room incl. tax, 8 nights. When number of participants is not
even, some nights 3 will share a room at $95 per room.
Gas, Entrance fees, Books, Postage, Phone: $50 per person
AMC fee: 10% of land expenses
Leader/Co-leader expenses: participants each pay 12.5% of leader/co-leader expenses
12% contingency
