Some examples would be: rocket safety, purchasing a computer, design elements, what to look for when buying a camera, making cookies, different breeds of dogs, what 4-H has taught you, and so much more! Working exhibits are informal ways of sharing information about a project area. Working exhibits encourage the audience to learn by doing. In this area, you share a new skill with the audience. Topics might include: folding paper airplanes, origami, dipping candles, nutritious snacks, making a circuit, and much more. The presenter brings the supplies and shows how to complete it. Youth are encouraged to work in groups to prepare presentations and working exhibits. Individual members can also do working exhibits and educational presentations. Linn County can send 6 educational presentations and 4 working exhibits to the State Fair. Extemporaneous Speaking Extemporaneous speaking is designed to encourage the development of the life skill of communicating with others through enhancing the ability to think, organize, to speak and to answer questions readily before an audience. Check out specific information in your fair book.
