Dialogue
Situation: John is shopping at the supermarket, but he can't find anything, so he asks
a clerk for help.
Clerk: Can I help you, sir?
John: Yes. I'm at a complete loss.
John: I'm looking for the sugar.
Clerk: Sugar? It's in the food section, on aisle B.
John: I'm sorry. Did you say aisle D?
Clerk: I said, "B".
John: Oh, I see. Thanks very much.
Clerk: My pleasure.
John: One more thing,
John: could you tell me where the household supplies are?
Clerk: You bet. Go down this aisle and turn left.
John: Thanks. You've been very helpful.
◆Objectives
(1) Students will learn how to ask for help to find anything.
(2) Students will learn vocabulary used in the supermarket.

Clerk: Would you like to pay with your credit card or cash?
Customer: My purse gets lost. Can you tell me where the service
center is?
◆Activity
1) Pair works: Two students a group. One be clerk, the other be
customer to practice the dialogue.
2) Role play: Let students stimulate the situation in the supermarket.
And suppose some difficulties for clerk and customer to face. They
should solve the problem.
