Expectation:
Your child is expected to read for at least 20 minutes per night Monday through Thursday. I
would like for your child to read from a variety of genres such as nonfiction, fiction,
magazines, newspapers, poetry, etc… Reading from a variety of genres is considered a
well-balanced reading diet. Please check mark the appropriate night column, record the
date, check the box indicating which type of genre your child read, record the amount of
time spent reading, and your initials to confirm that your child read. This homework reading
log is due every Friday for a homework grade. Please remember that research shows that



