RELEASE AND HOLD HARMLESS AGREEMENT

In consideration of the acceptance by Colby College of the student's participation in the internship named above, the
undersigned do hereby:
1.
Acknowledge that Colby College does not endorse or guarantee the internship named above or any other
foreign study program, and that the student has voluntarily selected the internship;
2.
Acknowledge that Colby College is not an agent of the internship, nor is the internship an agent of Colby
College; that Colby College has no responsibility for the academic curriculum of the internship or for the provision of
services, including but not limited to food, lodging, and travel; that the responsibility of Colby College is limited to
agreeing to provide Colby credit for approved academic work successfully completed by the student while at the
internship;
3.
Release and discharge Colby College and all of its employees, officers, trustees, and agents, and their
representatives, of and from all claims, liabilities, demands, and damages, whether known or unknown, which the
undersigned now have, may have had, or ever have had against any one or more of them, to the date of this
agreement, on account of, arising out of, or in any way related to the student's participation in the internship
identified above;
4.
Agree to indemnify and hold harmless Colby College, its employees, officers, trustees, and agents, and their
representatives, of and from any and all claims, liabilities, demands, damages, lawsuits, judgments, and expenses of
any nature, including reasonable attorneys' fees, based upon or arising out of any personal illness or injury or
property damage or loss caused by, resulting from, or arising out of the student's enrollment or participation in the
internship or her/his own acts or omissions during her/his participation in the internship;
5.
Agree that this Release and Hold Harmless Agreement is binding upon the undersigned, and the heirs,
successors, assigns, and personal representatives of each;
6.
Acknowledge that before signing this Release and Hold Harmless Agreement, each of the undersigned:
a.
Has read it;
b.
Understands this Agreement and that it affects important legal rights;
c.
Signs it voluntarily as his/her free act and deed, and
d.
Intends to be legally bound by it.

Original signature of BOTH parent(s)/guardian(s) required (even is student is over 18) unless student
has sole financial responsibility for her Colby College tuition and fees and meets federal requirements for
financial independence. If this is the case, please attach explanatory note.
