Participants of College Students’ Perspectives and Employment of Loanwords - A Case of Southern Taiwan University A sample of 197 students attending the Southern Taiwan University was studied, those who were only requested to answer the questionnaire survey and those we chose to interview from questionnaire survey sampling. To ensure some homogeneity of educational background, all participants were selected from the student population in Southern Taiwan University. For the interviewees, we chose six people, three males and three females. The interviewees were chosen randomly from those who volunteered, and then were selected based on how they filled out the questions. To understand the acceptability and the perceptions of participants toward the phenomenon of loanword utilization. The participants in the questionnaire survey were selected from different majors. About samplings of two hundred students was involved in the study, and classified according to age, gender, major and status.
