participation in the MAC Basketball Academy.
I certify they are in good health and able to
participate in all activities. I understand
that basketball is a sport that a variety of
injuries may occur. I authorize the staff to
act for me during the event, according to
their best judgment in any emergency
requiring treatment, for services which I will
pay. I authorize the camp staff to provide
first aid, treatment of any injuries, and act
in my child’s best interest during
participation. I agree to hold Mineral Area
College, the college staff, the camp staff,
and all members of the camp harmless and
waive any legal action resulting from
accidental injury at this event.

Beginners to Advanced Campers
MAC Cardinals Basketball Academy
This All-Day Basketball Camp is designed
to teach each camper the fundamental skills of
basketball in a FUN and exciting setting. Each
Camper will receive expert instruction,
compete in individual skills contest, and play
in structured team games on a daily basis.
Campers will enjoy learning basketball
fundamentals through a variety of drills,
personal instruction, demonstrations, videos,
and competitive game-like situations. Each
camper will also receive a detailed progress
report at the conclusion of the camp, and
season passes to the Mineral Area College
home Basketball games.
The camp will be held in the Sechrest Field
House at Mineral Area College on June 21-24,
2010 (Mon–Thurs) from 9:00am to 3:00pm.
Lunch is provided daily for all campers.
Camp Staff:
Corey Tate (MAC Academy Director)
Corey Tate has been at the helm of the Mineral Area
College Basketball program for six seasons. Coach Tate
was named the Region XVI "Coach of the Year," and the
MCCAC Conference "Coach of the Year" in 2006. He began
his college playing career at Mineral Area College in
1994, where he was an All-Conference and All-Region
player. He transferred to the University of Missouri and
had three successful seasons playing under legendary
coach Norm Stewart. He played professional basketball
overseas for a short stint before a back injury ended his
playing career. Tate returned to coaching and spent
three seasons as an Assistant Coach at Mineral Area, and
is only the third head coach in the program's history.

How to Register:
Fill out the enclosed form and mail
application and payment of $140 by June
14, 2010. If you plan on Registering after
June 14, 2010 Please call and confirm your
spot. No pro-rated campers, please pay in
full.
What to Bring:
Playing Clothes, Basketball Shoes (NO
sandals), Towel & Swimming Suit (Thursday)
Meals:
Lunch and a drink will be provided FREE of
charge each day. There will be a
concession stand with drinks and snacks
available during morning and afternoon
breaks for a nominal charge.
Competition:
Each Camper will have a chance to put their
fundamentals to the test each day in
individual contests and competitive
situations within their age and skill groups.
Campers:
This camp is designed for BOYS and GIRLS
of All AGE levels and All ABILITY levels.
Instruction and drills are designed for the
beginning to advanced camper. Suggested
Grade levels 2nd to 12th.
