UT Invitational Sales Competition March 20, 2015 8:30am-5:30pm Huntington Sales Lab Savage Business Complex 4200 Deadline to apply: February 7 Competition Format The UT Invitational Sales Competition is a 3 round tournament style competition that tests the contestants’ conceptual selling skills. Each round is 20 minutes (15 minutes for the role play, 5 minutes for transitions). Students will be sellers for PIC and Sendai. A new buyer profile will be distributed. The buyers, judges, and coaches will be business people. Students will have 3 coaching/interview sessions where the ESSPS will match student preferences to firm/recruiter preferences. Gift cards to the UT Bookstore for the Top 4 Senior Division and Top 2 Junior Division How the Top 36 Students Will Be Selected Students who have successfully completed their basic sales class, PSLS 3440, and who have NOT accepted a job offer for post graduation are eligible to apply for the senior division of the competition (18 senior spots). All other professional sales students who are also available for internships within the next 12 months are eligible for the junior division of the competition (18 junior spots). Students are required to submit a resume, cover letter stating why they should be selected to compete, and a link to a self selected role play (role play link not required for students who have not taken PSLS 3440). Materials should be sent to edwardschmidtschool@utoledo.edu by February 6. The sales faculty team reviews the applicants and selects the top 36 based on demonstrated conceptual selling skills, academic performance, professionalism, and career placement status. The top 36 are selected to compete, and the remaining attend as guides and tabulators.
