INDEPENDENT (INDIVIDUAL) PROJECT REQUIREMENTS The member must do the following to get credit for Independent project work. 1. Have a supervisor, someone who knows something about the subject you want to learn. This could be a leader, a parent, or an older friend. For example if you want to do photography, your supervisor should be someone who knows about camera and taking good pictures. 2. At the beginning of your project, plan what you will do during the year by referring to 4-H manuals and talking with your supervisor/mentor, (screened 4-H volunteer). Be sure to include general 4-H member requirement; such as, three county events, leadership, communication and citizenship activities. Fill in the Independent Member Project Registration form. 3. Club members submit their Independent Member Project Registration Form to their Organization Leaders who approves it and submits it to the 4-H office. Non-club members submit the Independent Member Project Registration form directly to the 4-H office. The 4-H Field Specialist will make suggestions, sign the form and return it to you. 4. Do the activities listed in your plan. Check with your supervisor/mentor at least once a month. Call the 4-H office for help if you have questions or problems with your projects. 5. At the end of the 4-H year, fill out the County Record from reporting on your project work done. Club members submit this to their Organization leader; non-club members submit this to the 4-H office.
