Scientists believe that the Amazon rainforest is at least 55 million years old. The Amazon rainforest has the highest biodiversity on Earth. Biodiversity is vital for medicine. Many drugs that we use now are made from plants in the rainforests. However, the life of the Amazon rainforest is being seriously threatened. Climate change is one problem that makes it harder for the rainforest to survive. Another is farming. Deforestation causes great damage to rainforests. If the rainforest keep disappearing, we might lose the chance to find cures for certain diseases and many of the plants and animals will be gone forever. And the only way we can protect it is to spread the word and let people know that rainforest is of great importance to us. The nature is like a mother to the human race. It provides us food to eat and place to live. Though we are small, we have the smartest brains with biggest desire to get what we want. Therefore, we get more than we want. Now, what we can do is protect our earth as quickly as we can. Though we are students, we still can do something positive to save our planet. For example, turn off the lamp when we leave, use electricity and water in moderation and take a bus instead of driving a car. If people in the world do these little things every time and every day, we can save not only our lives but also our Earth.
